Hi everyone

I have discovered this morning that a scam company called UME Ltd has been charging me £4.50 per week since November.  I must have accidently clicked on a popup or advert or something but I certainly did not intentionally sign up to anything and I am so cross!

I can see from this community that I am not the only one.  I have spoken to O2 this morning, who have been very helpful.  They have given me a number to contact UME to request a refund.  However, when I called it, it says Welcome to the Mobile Payment Service Centre and asks me if I want details of or wish to cancel my mobile phone service.  There is no option to actually talk to anyone or be able to demand a refund - surprise surprise!

Has anyone had any success in getting hold of these people or even getting a refund?  I think it is an outrangeous scam but I am not sure what I can do next.  Any suggesions or success stories?

TIA

Thank you @MI5 and @Cleoriff  I'll get on it.  It makes be sick to think how much money they are taking from people each week.  Will update if I get anywhere.

We all agree @LucyKate, it's a disgusting practice to rip people off!

@LucyKate

If you are unable to get through to UME Ltd to discuss your subscription on the phone number provided, during normal working hours, you should make an additional complaint about this to the Phone-paid Services Authority. You should already have complained about the fraudulent subcription.

The PSA list an email address for UME: help@umelimited.com
