Transfer of Pay & Go Credit

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello,

I currently have an O2 Pay & Go phone that has nearly £200 credit on it, and I would like to know what options I have for transferring this to another contract (I assume I cannot simply have the credit refunded?).

I was hoping to take out a Pay Monthly contract with O2 that included the new Moto G phone, but unfortunately the contract prices for this phone, that have been announced today, are not very competitive.

Could my credit be transferred to another operator (e.g. Tesco) that uses the O2 network?

If I were to arrange an O2 contract through a 3rd party that offers a better price (e.g. CarphoneWarehouse or Phones4U) could I transfer the credit as I would if I dealt direct with O2?

Many thanks.

Adrian

You can migrate your pay & go number onto an o2 contract doesn't matter where you take it out. The credit from your pay & go account will transfer over, normally will show on the first/second bill (max £350)...your rewards credit on P&G account will show on your 4th bill. You can't transfer credit to another network.

Hope this helps slight_smile

You should be able to transfer the credit to an O2 contract if you move your number. It will not be transferred to another network.

Thank you both for replying. I've had a look at the 'How do I keep my mobile number?' link, but this only covers transferring to an O2 Pay Monthly Contract through O2 rather than a 3rd party. In any event, I see that O2 have now pulled the Moto G contracts from their website, so hopefully they will come up with something more competitively priced.

I believe you can do this by upgrading in one of their shops and explaining what you require.
