I did it twice "keep my number" request and i received an email:
*** THIS IS AN AUTOMATED MESSAGE ***

The request could not be completed, the following reason is given for the rejection:

Can someone help or give me some number to contact with o2

You need to contact O2 on any number in this guide Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support 

Advice from an O2 Guru regarding a way to get through:

When you call, you will be asked for the reason you are calling,

Stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.

Press 2 for Everything Else

Press 5 for More Options

Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to an advisor.

Press Upgrade, Lost/Stolen or Fraud if you have to.

8am is the best time to call

It's asking for the answer to your security word, not your password.

You can reset the security word in your details in your MyO2.

It's the answer to questions such as your mother's maiden name, name of fist school, first pet etc.

You also need to be aware that porting numbers don't happen at weekend so it will now be Tuesday before this is actioned @Yor6543
