Texting the USA

I am having trouble texting the USA.
A friend in the US can  text me but I cant reply to her, I still get charged for the attempts and it looks like the text is sent but she never gets them.. can anyone help please.

All this doesn't however solve the original issue. I'm sure it's a problem with the receiving network rather than an O2 problem. There are some good alternatives offered though and these days texting will soon be old hat and obsolete.

Indeed that is true.... Text messaging is not 100% reliable within the same country - Go and add the complexity of international and network variations and it becomes a real minefield....

I ended up calling O2 customer service..they couldnt help but.................. I tried texting my friend again and it got through!!!!! no idea what was going on but its fixed now.

Will look into all of the suggestions you gave.. Skype I already have on my computer but nothing on my Galaxy S3 mini yet.

Perhaps a local network fault?

If you both have Whatsapp or Facebook Messanger, they are as good as any and calls and texts are free over wifi slight_smile
