Text offering extra £15 from o2

Anonymous
Not applicable

I had a text on 18 Dec from o2:

"Last chance. Don't miss out on extra £15 allowance! Just top up once before 20/12/2013 and it's yours. You'l have 14 days to use the extra allowance for calls, texts, or data."

So just a few minutes ago I topped up £10 and all I have is the £10 I topped up, no extra. I am on Text and Call tariff.

Should I expect the extra to appear, or what....

I believe this is what they call a "virtual" allowance that doesn't show in your account.

If you make any calls/texts they should be taken from this extra allowance first before using the £10 top up.

O2 have done this before:

Ah yes, thanks, so I see now. I now have the texts adding the "virtual" allowance. Maybe I was a bit premature asking. Glad I asked though as it might still not have been clear to me how it worked without asking and your answer.

I get 25 texts and 25 minutes with my £10 top up on Text and Call. I sent texts today which reduced my allowance to 22 texts remaining. So I guess I'll have to use up the allowance before the virtual £15 gets used. Confusing.

[Correction to £10]

Give customer service a call, they can check to see if the virtual money is on your account

I have the text that says:

You've got £15.00 of credit allowance to use for any calls, messages or data before 03 Jan at 11.59pm
