I was on holiday for a few days last week. I received a number of texts from O2. First saying 80% data used up. Then later a text saying ALL data used and that I would need to buy more.
Now I was using a LOT of data and I could see it running up to 10GB. Thing is, I am VOLTed and in my account (which I just checked) it says 20GB data (10GB plus VOLT 10GB). My usage for last month was 10.2GB - so why was I cut off from using data when I was clearly inside the 20GB limit. This makes no sense and created an issue for me on the last day and a half of holiday.
What's happening here?

You shouldn't have been cut off.
The issue with the warnings is that the system automatically sends the messages when you reach the limit of your first 10gb and doesn't take into account your Volt data.

Thanks for the update. I actually found a similar thread to mine (after I had posted). Yes it seems the old software issue was to blame.
I didn't actually get cut off, but I figured I was about to. This meant I had to cut my son off from using data in order to preserve what little I had left for important emails.
I wish I'd known what was going on, but I guess I'll just ignore these messages going forward. Thanks for taking the time to reply 😉

Interesting. Obviously they have not included Volt Bonus data as part of roaming.
Whether this is a glitch or new policy of which we have not been told. I'll be interested in what they say

Nor any data multipliers, as offered by resellers now and then, if still a thing...

@pgn So what's all this from My O2
The mention of 7GB UK data suggests my basic 32GB is split with 25GB available for roaming and the rest UK only. No indication on bonus data
7GB UK Data allowance
4.37GB Left of 7GB
25GB Data allowance
25GB Left of 25GB
32GB Bonus data
32GB Left of 32GB

Me too. 40GB SIMO, doubled to 80GB by VOLT.
3rd week of May, about 4.2GB used, and summary shows an unintelligible breakdown...

It was the UK data bit that got me. Almost like they took my 32GB normal allowance and then took 7GB of it for UK only use and 25GB for UK and roaming. But what happens to the bonus data if all of my normal data is used? Can that be used for roaming?

The app shows differently from the website
Website My O2 :
7GB UK Data allowance
1.13GB Left of 7GB
25GB Data allowance
25GB Left of 25GB
32GB Bonus data
32GB Left of 32GB
