I was on holiday for a few days last week.  I received a number of texts from O2.  First saying 80% data used up.  Then later a text saying ALL data used and that I would need to buy more.

 

Now I was using a LOT of data and I could see it running up to 10GB.  Thing is, I am VOLTed and in my account (which I just checked) it says 20GB data (10GB plus VOLT 10GB).  My usage for last month was 10.2GB - so why was I cut off from using data when I was clearly inside the 20GB limit. This makes no sense and created an issue for me on the last day and a half of holiday.

 

What's happening here?

And how come the app shows my correct usage of 5.87GB on the landing page but in the app total usage so far is zero

Data allowance

This allowance is made up of the following

15GB UK Data allowance

11.52GB Left of 15GB

Expires 01 Jun 2025

25GB Data allowance

25GB Left of 25GB

Expires 01 Jun 2025

40GB Bonus data

40GB Left of 40GB

Expires 01 Jun 2025
 
The "big green circle of data usage" shows:
76.52 GB left out of 80 GB. 
 
Actually 3.5GB used, not 4.2 as I alluded to earlier.
 
I suppose it wouldn't be O2 if it wasn't complex...🤷
