As stated above just testing to see if I can get it to work with the 100mb if I can I plan to change my tarriff to something more suitable.

My laptop connects using wifi thru a BT hub at home. I switched this off for the purpose of the test.

I link the laptop to the phone ok with good signal strength but it doesnt connect to the internet.

I know my phone doesnt support fast data speeds but it should still connect all be it slowly shouldnt it?

Yes internet pages should open up.

Any pages with pictures in it would open up slower.

Check you have followed this:

1. Connect phone and computer

  • Connect the data cable to the phone socket and to your computer's USB port.
  • Press the Home key to return to standby mode.

2. Turn on tethering

  • Press the menu icon.
  • Press Settings.
  • Press Wireless & networks.
  • Press Tethering & portable hotspot.
  • Press USB tethering to turn on the function.
  • When the box next to the menu item is ticked (V), the function is turned on.
  • Press the Home key to return to standby mode.

3. Establish connection

  • An internet connection from your computer via your phone is automatically established.
  • When the connection is established, you can access the internet from your computer

Limited access means its not fully set up and wont allow you to open net pages.
