Recently upgraded my phone with o2 refresh as I damaged my old phone and was due an upgrade anyway, and having recieved my new phone apparently the only way to transfer data is with smart switch. I can't use smart switch as my old device is damaged beyond repair!

I've simply put my simcard into my new phone but none of my contacts ect have been imported, what do I do?

If you had your contacts backed up to Google, once you login to Google on your new device, they should import automatically.
Check you Google sync settings are set to sync contacts in your accounts setting options too.
There is some help here but if not backed up and without your old phone, it will be difficult to get anything back unfortunately.

Try plugging the big end of the charging cable into a Windows 10 Laptop's USB port, with the small end in the phone which should be turned on if at all possible...If the laptop recognises the device in any way, even if you can't access anything then a (good) phone repair shop might be able to to access the file systems and recover your data. (10 comes with lots of usb drivers preinstalled so has the best chance of recognising the phone)
