If this is a monthly sim to replace a monthly sim then yes you need to call customer service to activate it. If it's a new contract then use the link above.

Or...do as I did (if you live close enough)...pop into an O2 store and let them do it for you. Rapidly done..and usually no long wait for it to activate. Mine was done in 10 minutes...
