Good evening. Going fro payg to pay monthly. Chat adviser started migration of my old phone number to new phone using old and new sim numbers. After a hour message on old phone was registration failed and now not working. Is this part of the process or has something gone wrong. Thanks for any quick help

It means the process has started.
Insert new SIM and keep rebooting until it comes online.

It can take up to 24 hours once the Pay As You Go stops working for the contract sim to start with the number transferred. It usually only takes a few hours. If you switch the phone with the new sim in on and off every few hours this should speed things up.
