When you call customer services to change they will send you a new sim with your number on it.
You then just activate the sim when you receive it.

Have you upgraded, ported  your number from another network, gone from PAYG to monthly or vice versa or simply changed tariff?

Some help here

You need to put your old simcard in your phone and then simply fill in the form here in the link

http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk

Once the old sim has lost connection, reboot the phone every 15 minutes to check, then insert the new simcard. Again reboot the phone at regular intervals until the sim connects to the network. All finished then. You do need to use the new sim as contract and PAYG are different.

You can’t sim swap as you are changing from PAYG to contract.
The sim sent by customer service should have your number and your chosen tariff on it already. All you need to do is follow the instructions that came with the sim to activate it.
If any of this is wrong you need to get back onto customer service to put it right.
