I know this happens now with Bolt On data, and i believe another network allows allowance data to role over (although dont quote me on that),  but do you think O2 should let you roll over data for at least the following month?

I have a 2GB data package but due to being on wifi alot of the time only use 1.5GB at most, although it would be nice to be able to roll the 500mb i didnt use over as sometimes things happen meaning you need more data and dont want to pay for a Bolt On

Yes it would be great if standard data rolled over but data is the real money spinner for networks these days so I'm guessing o2 would increase tariffs. I rarely use my 4GB and if data rolled over I would probably have 30GB next month. One day we may see this happening to compete with other networks.

use to happen with call and text allowances some years back, but these tend to be very high or unlimited now. @jonsie hit the nail on the head, data is where the money is at, what with the explosion of smartphones, tech and 4G.

Yes, but it's just not gonna happen that I can see.. Data is now the most valuable part of our allowances for O2 so I doubt they'll do this!

Didn't they recently do this for one month with a new tariff....or am I dreaming? (It was only for a month as an incentive if i remember correctly).....

Edit. Yes it was this through Feb and March with bolt ons http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Welcome-News/O2-sim-ply-gives-customers-even-more-data/m-p/949171/highl...

That's just if you buy a bolt on though, not for the core data package.

they used to carry over, including calls and texts untill they changed there practices to use up ccustomers data etc and force to top up every month - even when phone hardly used - I used to be able to top up roughly each 3 month while using remaining balance - not now they changed practises to prevent that

Years ago since that all changed.
