Hi members, 

 

Today I’m excited to announce the launch of data rollover, which we’re throwing in at no extra cost for new and upgrading pay monthly customers who choose Plus Plans and Ultimate Plans. 

 

Sometimes, you don’t need all your data. Other times, you could use a little more. That’s why we let you take any of your main allowance left over from the last month into the next. And even better, it’s done automatically – no fuss, no limits.

Flexibility as standard 
Take out a Plus or Ultimate Plan and we’ll throw in data rollover at no extra cost. That’s on top of all your best-loved benefits, like EU roaming, O2 Switch Up and an Extra. 

 

No fuss, no limits 
There’s no cap on how much data from your main allowance you can roll over – unless you already have unlimited data. Didn’t use any of your allowance this month? It’ll all be added to next month’s total. So, you can do more of what you want, from wherever you want. 

 

The power’s in your hands 
Enjoy your data however you want, whenever you want – whether life’s throwing you more day trips and road trips or cosy times and family nights at home.

What is data rollover?

Every month. We work out your data rollover at the end of each billing month, not calendar month. 

How much data can I roll over?

There’s no limit, but only data from your main allowance can be rolled over. By that, we mean data you’ve rolled over before can’t be rolled over again.  For example, on a 50GB tariff, the maximum rollover is 50GB – leaving 100GB for the next month, which’ll expire at the end of the month.  Unlimited data tariffs are excluded from data rollover.

No, double data is excluded from data rollover, if you’re receiving it as a Volt benefit. 

How long does any data I roll over last?

One month. If the rolled-over amount isn’t used, it’ll be lost. 

When can I use the data I’ve rolled over?

Your main data will be used first, followed by any data you’ve rolled over. 

Where can I use the data I’ve rolled over?

Data that’s been rolled over can only be used in the UK. 

How can I keep track of my data rollover?

You can see how much data you’ve got left to use in My O2. The total we show you will include any rolled-over data. 

If I get a notification that I’ve used up a certain amount of my data, will this include rolled-over data?

Yes – any notification with a ‘percentage remaining’ amount will include your rolled-over data. 

What will happen to my data rollover if I change or upgrade my plan?

If you move from a Classic Plan to a Plus or Ultimate Plan, you’ll nab data rollover. Likewise, if you switch from a Plus or Ultimate Plan to a Classic Plan, you’ll lose it. And if you change your monthly data allowance but stay on a Plus or Ultimate Plan, you’ll be able to roll the new amount over. 

 

Terms and Conditions 

For new and upgrading customers only. Data rollover is included with Pay Monthly Plus Plans and Ultimate Plans at no extra cost. Unlimited data plans excluded. Double data received as a Volt benefit is excluded. Up to 100% of unused data from your main data allowance can be rolled over into the following monthly billing cycle. Any data rolled over will last for one monthly billing cycle only. Data from your main allowance will be used before any data you’ve rolled over. Any data that cannot be rolled over will expire. Any data that is rolled over can only be used in the UK. You will lose data rollover as an ongoing benefit if you change to a plan that isn't a Plus Plan or Ultimate Plan, but unused rolled over data will carry over and be available until used up or expired. Thanks for that info @Dave-O2 

I was going to ask if this would affect the 25gb allowance when abroad but I see it says only for use in the UK. So I've answered my own question. 😂
