I have recently joined O2 from EE and have transfered my EE phone number to O2. since the transfer I have not been able to receive messages other than O2 test messages and when I send a message the recipient gets the message but from the old O2 phone number that came with the SIM. I have been on live chat 3 times now since last week and this is still not resolved. I am using a Huawei P20 Pro android phone.

Have you rebooted the phone?
Other than that, it may be a split port so you'll need to contact O2 to check.
You'll need to call customer service.

Or advice from an O2 Guru regarding a way to get through:
If you call 202, when it comes to the reason you are calling stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.
Press 2 for Everything Else
Press 5 for More Options
Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to someone.
Say "Upgrade", "Lost/Stolen" or "Fraud" if you have to, to get put through to someone.
8.00am is the best time to call if you can.

Thanks for the quick relies. I have raised this already with O2 via live chat on 3 occasions, the last time today. Every time they say it has been excalated and will be fixed within 24 hours but it still isnt working. I have rebooted the phone many times.

You need to call not chat for a better response.

@Cleoriff These are general checks we do for any txt only issue
This helps identify what is causing txt problem.
Try sending a txt to own number .
Try sim in another phone if possible.
Check message centre number on phone settings
Pay Monthly : +447802000332
Pay and Go : +447802092035
