Hi all,
I signed up for another tariff/SIM for a family member (under my existing O2 account) yesterday (20th), and it was dispatched yesterday afternoon (3 PM), and is expected to arrive by Friday (23rd)
This morning I received an email at 5 AM (21st) to say that the sim has now been activated. When I check my O2 account, it says the SIM is being used in an "Alcatel One Touch 1040X" device, even though I haven't received the SIM yet.
Is this normal or something that O2 does to pre-activate SIMs when dispatched?
EDIT: I did provide a PAC code (to port a number over from EE) when ordering the new SIM - is the activation and incorrect device details part of that process? Nobody in our family has ever used an Alcatel device

Your sim is activated immediately by O2 so it is ready to use as soon as you receive it.
It may be picking up a device from other products in your MyO2 or it's just a glitch.
