Does O2 Wifi support SIM authentication or in the future? It is risky to connect to open O2 WiFi because there is no mutual authentication between the phone and the network.

As per the link I provided previously, only specific phones will work.
Last time I looked non approved Chinese phones are not on the list so you can't use it.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

But that's the point I'm making.
You were asking for the ssid to try and connect to it, there isn't one, but even if that was how it worked, your phone wouldn't connect to it anyway.

Do you mean it may be using MAC address whitelisting?

Yes, I'm sure it is, along with other forms of authentication.

Anyway, do you have any screenshot of the network settings and network information of Wifi Extra when the phone is connected to it? Is it an encrypted WiFi hotspot?

My phone has the SIM option but there is no way for me to choose using SIM1 or SIM2 for authentication, but there is no Wifi extra coverage here for me to test.
