Another alternative @Jazz2, depending on the make, model condition and age of your handset and of your future intentions, is to sell your handset on eBay.  

My experience is that defective devices sold "For spares or repair" sell quickly, as long as your aspirations in terms of sale proceeds are reasonable. 👍
