Regarding Microsoft Lumia 550

Hi

I had 500MB data which run out after 5 days from purchase.

I like to know what is the purpose of MB Data?I though no data, mean I can't connect to the internet. I can connect to the internet at my place via WIFI, I just need to type in a password for the username.

Is there notepad in the phone? I can type notes in calender, but prefer to type it in notepad.

I also can't open words/excel/one note/powerpoint. I am not sure how to open them?

Mobile data is connecting via the network, WiFi is from a buildings broadband provider.

Look in the marketplace app for a notepad

Download office apps too from the marketplace app to open your files.

Office applications should be installed as standard on the 950, you should be able to find them by swiping right to left from the home screen which will open a list of all the applications.

You may need a Microsoft account to complete the set up (ie access files in the cloud, etc)

Both one note and all office apps are pre-installed actually on the 550.
Same size storage as my 640 which has the same.

You will find @RM19894 that you need an Office 365 subscription after 30 days for office on your phone.  This includes using Word and Excel.  Onenote is a great notepad and syncs between your phone and PC if you use OneDrive.

If they are not installed, search Office in the Market Place.
