Problems topping up Pay & Go

Anonymous
Not applicable
I have been trying to top up my elderly mother's Pay & Go mobile as she is in hospital. I keep getting 'top up unsuccessful' whether I try to do it online or by phoning. The only way I have succeeded is by going to an O2 shop - which isn't convenient. Do other people have this problem?

If your card is not registered to the account it will fail if trying online.
Vouchers are the easiest way if the phone isn't yours.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

I am sure you could register your card to top up though?. When I was on PAYG I had 2 cards registered on my account. This way I could top up my son and daughter in law's phone as well as mine. It might be worth ringing 4445 customer services and see if they will allow this? Otherwise as @MI5 says top up vouchers are easy and can be bought at many retailers

You can top up at most ATMs too and even through some mobile banking apps.

no I've been having the same problem lately I got a top up today but every time I try to register it I get told something wasn't right or please try again. I've tried so many times and even tried using a different phone.Normally it works after a while but this time it's not. This is the third top up in three months to do this. Any ideas or what the problem is?

No idea unless its the system glitching. You could ring CS on 4445 to query this. Meanwhile it would be quicker to get a top up voucher. Other ways to top up here...(Scroll down to PAYG)
