Poor 3G coverage in SE London

Anonymous
Not applicable

The coverage map indicates I should have good signal indoors and outdoors. It's not, it's extremely patchy outdoors, in the street, no large buildings in the area, relatively high elevation for London. Some other providers seem to also have the problem.. I don't quite understand why.  It's not transient, it's the same areas always, regardless of weather.

Try the usual of cleaning your sim and or having it swapped by an 02 store who would perform the swap my sim procedure for you.

If you can try your sim in an alternative phone to see if things improve to show if your handset is at fault.

Have you tried switching to 2g to see if things improve.

Even if the mast is showing fine you can still challenge it.

Phone o2 on 202 contract or 4445 payg to check your account and to challenge the mast status.

Ask neighbours etc if they are having issues and if their on o2. If so if they report poor coverage o2 should investigate the mast.

Look at alternatives whilst at home such as a service by o2 called Tugo.

No, it's not my phone. In some areas it works just fine, other areas it's awful. The coverage is not as good as advertised.

Ok.

Have you looked at some of the alternatives I highlighted. If your not locked into a contract you could possibly moving networks.

Your not in the vicinity of either of the two transmitter towers are you? I always seem to lose connection underneath the 'Croydon' one on Beulah Hill.
