Phones 4U have ceased offering O2 contracts, upgrades or PAYG phones. Phones 4U state this is due to a "recent startegic re-evaluation of its network relations"

Maybe they, like many of us, don't like the way O2 is currently doing business

Funnily enough they lost out on an upgrade contract from me when I got my Z10! I stood for a good 5 minutes trying to get someone to serve me and no-one approached until I was walking out...at which point I told them I'd keep my business with O2 direct.

Kinda wished I had just walked down to the Vodafone or EE shops at times mind you... wink

5 minutes???? That has to be some kind of record. Or the staff were all asleep!

Just as an FYI, it's O2 who have ceased to trade with P4U, not the other way round.

Either way the less shops selling O2 phones the better in my eyes the O2 shops won't be able to cope with the extra demand will have to take on extra staff and put their hands in their deep pockets

Regardless of who ended the relationship it's probably a blessing for consumers either way. Given phones4u's reputation I highly doubt any of their sales people would highlight the price increase clause which would have made claims of misselling round the corner

The difference in sales will be marginal considering the small amount of sales that P4U were conducting after they were no longer permitted to sell phone contracts 12 months ago. Any increase in sales would have come last February when the phone contract sales were withdrawn.

Carphone Warehouse however seem like a different world, they're not perfect but they always seem to know what they're talking about and I'd be happy going through them for an upgrade.

Can't speak for them all however there has been at least one post on here in the last week of someone who was going to buy a sim from O2 in store, had the price increase clause pointed out to them and they then walked out without completing the purchase which would suggest that some O2 reps at least are highlighting it

It's impossible to comment on all of the staff just because one person has had a bad experience.

My previous post was about one experience, however similar things have happened on different occasions.  However, there have been instances where the staff were nice and friendly and helped me out.

Some people are overall happy with the service and some people aren't.
