Pay monthly to pay as you go

I'm abroad and not due to be back to the UK until late June. I would like to move to pay as you go. What's the best way to do this?

The OP still won't be able to have the new PAYG sim sent directly to them abroad. They would have to have it sent to a UK address and then sent on. Would O2 send it to any address other than the OP's home address?

That won't be an issue as they are due back within 6 months, but yes, it will only be posted to a UK address. As long as the customer passes security checks they can nominate a friends or relatives address to get it posted on to them.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

It's all well and good maintaining the payg but I'm more interested in the how - how to move to the payg? I have been told I need to phone CS from the said pay monthly, whilst in the UK in order to move. Obviously that's not an option for a few months now and I was hoping to not have to pay monthly fees. Any suggestions?

You'll still have to pay at least one more month on contract as you have to give 30 days notice.

The key problem is once you request the swap via the free from abroad number is how you get the replacement PAYG sim sent to you as o2 will only dispatch to the uk as the old pay monthly sim cannot be used on payg unless things have changed.

A friend still lives at my old address so that's not an issue. The problem is that I've been told I have to phone o2 from the pay monthly whilst in the UK so that they can transfer the number to the PAYG
