PAYG to pay monthly problem

I requested o2 payg to o2 pay monthly keeping same number 9 days ago but they have blocked my old number.

I received a new sim and new number and a pac number but it hasn't transferred.

It's hopeless calling the support team because they promise it will happen but it hasn't.

Awful service.

Also they have stated that I do need a pac to migrate from payg to pm.

Laughable really these days.

You'll need your PAC to leave O2 which sounds like the best idea now.

Yes, I plan to leave O2, but I need my old payg number reinstated first.

Maybe that's the problem?

They have applied a pac (I have a number), but it doesn't need one, so the migration is stuck (confused)?

I emailed the O2 back office and hey presto it's succesfully migrated and they credited my pm account with the remainder on payg!

Maybe a coincidence???
