The left-hand slider, take it all the way down, all the way to the top, and then see if it's fixed in the down position...?

Dunno, @MI5 - I have the OP3T and it sometimes needs such treatment - I think the slider gets a thin layer of oxidation on it or something.
In case a bit of software has over-ridden the slider function, here's a little vid that shows you where to find the switches for slider functions in top, middle and bottom positions - if you haven't already been there, @Cowanryan86
You could also check the "keypad test" in the *#808# test menu, it checks the 3 positions of the slider control button.
