O2 upgrade rejected?

Hi just tried upgrading early online but i had a message saying 'due to our business policies you didn't meet the required criteria'

I thought there were no credit checks for upgrades? I have two lines with O2 currently, the second is the one I want to upgrade. Is it because it was only taken out just over 1 month ago? I'm happy to pay the upfront cost (£443) which was explained on the upgrade page but I've tried twice now and it says they can't process the upgrade due to business policies, does anyone know how I can overcome this or what might be causing it?

Thanks

@jamieleewv1

Things seem to have changed WRT upgrades and credit checks.

Most likely reason is that another credit check has been done too close to the last one.

Looks like you should contact the sales team as they can help with that – message them on Social Media if that works best for you -on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG)
Or you can call them on 0800 081 0255
Thanks

Nope. I haven't tried since as I want clarification on if you get credit checked when upgrading. There wasn't anything that informed me during checkout stage that I would be credit checked.

But I don't want to try again as if they do credit check it will affect my score as that would be 3 times in a short space of time that I've tried.

I'm hoping someone can clarify.

I doubt anyone can confirm or deny as it now seems to be driven by a computer algorithm that decides at will.
