Is this really solved now?

No! I had to scroll back to see which post 'solved' this major roaming problem with O2...(I didn't notice until you mentioned it @MI5) Confused

The message is quite clear.
Everyone gets the same test results.
O2 can't handle it but ever other network can, even the MVNO's and finally they admit to throttling to protect some pigmy in Outer Mongolia.
Prize idiots!!

@MI5 Just a shame that they have done this.  I'm suppressed  that Tescos is at full oh my full speed.

you can also see that both o2 and Tescos are desperately trying to get on 4G. It finds 4G, sticks with it and then wham back to 3G.

no data at all on 4G on o2 or Tesco but this time last year 4G wouldn't even connect so now it's getting there.

lets have 4G and no restrictions o2.

One thing I have noticed and forgot to mention.

I have received a welcome sms on Vodafone, Tesco, BT and even Asda in France and Belgium.

I havnt had had one SMS welcoming me to Europe at all on o2.

I'm sure that This is also against EU law as you alsways should get a welcome SMS advising you on any charges or certain things in Europe

I got a text from O2, EE PAYG and Three but not from my EE contract sim!

Wow catching up with this thread after 3 days has been informative.

The tone of the O2 communication around this continues to surprise me. Clearly they think their throttling is at a much higher quality level than it is. It's almost as if they wanted to throttle 4G by x% but instead disabled 4G and throttled 3G to x%. Or something. Nobody would talk this smug if they understood how bad it is... surely?

Clearly, time to move on. Not sure what I am hanging on to an "unlimited data" tarif for if I can't use data at all...

EE Voda or Three seem reasonable choices. On to check coverage and which countries are included in roaming.
I will keep my O2 sim in parallel so I can do some tests on the road in 10 days.

Indeed. It's not throttling, it's pure sabatage of service. It's impossible to do any mobile data task!

Now here's a thought...........  @MercedesS do you have a Spanish Telefonica SIM ?

In the UK do you have full speed "Like at Home" ?
