O2 Charged me £118

Anonymous

hello everyone,

o2 has charged me £118 for voice calls. i have an unlimited o2 sim. i have called a UK mobile number they charged me that amount. i called customer service regarding this charge and they told me the number i have called is by passing international call. all i know i called an UK mobile number. i also asked o2 why didnt they alert me that its a number which by pass international calls. but they said they dont have any service like that. i also wanted to cap my account for any extra charge but they dont have that option either.

i would like to know if anyone knows what is international call by passing or how can i know if any UK mobile number is actually by passing international calls? please let me know if anyone went through this situation. I appreciate your suggession. Thanks.

Hi.

If you called a UK number then this would come from your tariff allowances.

Are you in the UK?

It is right that o2 don't apply account caps.

If your sure the number you rang is a UK number and not an international one then make your case to o2 here.

Was the number in the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man? As of 5 December, numbers there are not considered UK numbers.

Or perhaps it was one of these:

07 non-mobile and call forwarding services

Some telephone numbers are operated by 3rd parties who connect or forward calls to another number. There are lots of these 3rd party services and they charge O2 a different, higher rate to connect calls. Calls to these non-mobile and call forwarding services are not included in your inclusive minutes.

This list of 07 non-mobile and call forwarding services which are not included in your inclusive minutes is correct as of October 2013

Is there a warning when you attempt to call one of these numbers....?

Lads, on the map Isle of Man is between Scotland and NI. So how is it possible that is not part of Uk mobile network. Thats another separation? Is anywhere the map with this? That is not fair to customers. Have to start carrying yellow pages?

I agree there should be a warning at least for a few months until people know I myself never got the text
