As the third day draws to a close without service and all you get are the constant and unchanging standard message, it strikes me o2 have a Duty of Care and should at least provide an estimated eta.
Even if they say one week, it allows you to get a different providor arranged. In 2014 three days without a phone is no joke and it effects our business.
Is anyone else in the North West experiencing these problems?

Not true. They do know what the problem is. The weather knocked a lot of masts out of service. Some of them are back up and running, some of them not. There's only so many masts the engineers can fix in a day.
its frustrating, yes, but it's not the end of the world. There are still landlines, payphones and face-to-face conversations to be had out there.

Try complaining to the Environmental Rural Affairs.

There are plenty of BT lines down as well so a land-line is not always the answer in rural areas!

We can only offer advice, unfortunately we cannot control what damage the weather will do to any services.
