Hi @Anonymous Could we have a bit more information please. Is this a new phone and /or sim.?
Check your network status here http://status.o2.co.uk/ first of all...then if thats ok you should follow this process http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk/ and if still no joy then you need to contact customer services http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

Hi
Its an upgrade phone, a Samsung A5. the sim came in the same package.
I can find the 02 network but when i click it, it hangs, saying Registering on 02 UK. It never succeeds.

Ok then you probably need a new sim as this one may be faulty. Do you still have your old phone? You could check if the new sim works in that one? Either way it may be quicker to pop into your nearest O2 store and get the store staff to check and give you a new sim if needed...

Unfortunately the old phone is missing, which precipitated ordering the upgrade.
The sim does not work and shows the same error on a second, definitely functional O2 phone.
Knowing it is the sim i will do as you say and go to the shop. thanks for the info

Out of interest...if you have followed the sim swap process...how long ago was this?. Sometimes it takes 24 hrs to process the swap. Either way ..going instore will sort this more quickly
