New sim not working

Hi  I have just up graded my phone and now have a iphone 6 but when i put the sim in it is coming up with no service yet my old phone is still working and dont know how i am to swap my number from old to new as normally it has been done automatically

Maybe it was just a case of rebooting but then again, maybe we will never know
