Hello, I have a pay as you go sim and I want to be able to forward calls to a number when I need it but I get

'Connection problem or invalid MMI code' error message when I try to enable.

MMI codes I tried:
**21*{UK telephone number}#  ---> I get the error, I tried with another O2 number and a LycaMobile number with samew results.
##21# --> this works, I get a positive message for disabling all forwarding settings
*#21# --> this works as well, I get response when checking current settings.

I tried calling support service and also going to O2 shop without receiving any relevant help and just telling me to try changing my pay as you go with a contract which I don't want.

Any help? My other option is to change provider. Thanks

o2 PAYG doesn't support call forwarding so you are going to be best moving to a new network

Do check other providers. Most of them do not support call forwarding on PAYG. This is because someone who has phoned up and whose call is forwarded can be cut off if the phone credit runs out as you are paying for the forwarding

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

It's the only way.

I'm not aware of any PAYG networks that allow it.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

I moved to giffgaff, they have monthly contracts, basically same as pay as you go bundles, with all I need (calls forwarding, EU calls and traffic, 5G, etc.)

Just seen that

Giffgaff appears to leave O2 PAYG standing

To set up call forwarding on Giffgaff, you can use the Phone app or dial a short code. You can also ask a Giffgaff agent to help.

Using the Phone app

Open the Phone app

Tap the three-dot menu

Tap Settings

Tap Calling accounts

Select the calling account you want to use

Tap Call Forwarding

Choose a call forwarding option

Enter the number you want to forward calls to

Tap Turn on

Using a short code

Dial *21 followed by the number you want to forward calls to

Add a # at the end

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
