I am very happy with O2 for the last year. Good reception in  the UK and free EU roaming.

I want to buy a new phone. But I am totally satisfied with my contract and I do not want to change it. I do not mind to commit for another year.

Can I buy a phone without changing my contract?

@durutti

You can buy a phone outright from somewhere else and use your current sim, or if you upgrade with O2, you need to take a new tariff and contract term.

Guide: Upgrading Your O2 Phone

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Thanks for this.

I would prefer to buy it from O2 to be sure that it is not locked to another network etc and they seem to have good prices. And in general to reward the company for the good service. As I said I would not mind to commit to my current contract for another 1 or 2 years.

But, well, if it cannot be done I will have to look elsewhere. Like Sky mobile or Vodafone or another supplier.

I bought my current phone from Vodaphone unlocked without being their customer and my partner has discount in Sky because of the unused data.

@durutti Just Google the phone you're looking for and buy it sim free, which will be unlocked to any network and will most likely be cheaper than buying from all the telecoms companies. Your current contract will become one month rolling which you can carry on for as long as you like, and then change if you find a better deal at a later time.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2
