New iphone

Just got a new iPhone 4S through Tesco but still with O2. O2 upgrade could not beat the deal and told me to get the phone through Tesco and the accounts could easily be changed. Phoned O2 and they have given me a PAC code to give to Tesco? Not sure why because the iPhone is O2 and my old phone is O2. the only thing Tesco has done is sold me a phone. Old and new accounts are still O2 have not changed service provider/network

I'm guessing they think you are on the Tesco network. You need to call back and explain you are still on O2 network. Tesco should have just upgraded your current account anyway unless you bought it as a new contract?
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

That is wierd, I can only presume the customer service rep was under the impression you were swapping to a tescos contract.

I'd advise phoning to make sure they haven't deleted the account yet. If both contracts are through O2 then they can just swap the number to your new one(if you want the same number)
Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you’re wrong. So Ive been told wink

If you've just bought a phone to use with an existing contract you had no need to ring O2 at all.

Nothing changes, don't worry about the PAC, it will expire in 30 days and do nothing.
