My device plan has been fully paid off, why am I still being charged?

Last month was the last month on my device plan, after which I should no longer have been charged for the device plan as it has been fully paid off, but this month I am still being charged for the device plan. What can I do? I want to cancel my account and switch this number to pay as you go, as I am outside the window of my contract and device plan.
