More data?

Do you think O2 will ever increase its data allowance?

I am on the Pay and Go Go Go tariff for my iPhone 5s and I get unlimited texts, (approximately) 150 minutes and 1GB of data.  To some people, 1GB is more than enough for one month of data usage, however for me when i'm out of the house, I want to constantly turn my 4G on.

I am aware of a data bolt on to add to my current tariff, but I just wish that O2 would increase their data usage (hopefully for free or only for a small cost) like they recently did for the Pay Monthly customers.

I struggle to see where loyalty comes into mobile contracts.

We as customers do not show loyalty IMO.

Payg customers can come and go as they please.

Monthly Contract Customers choose the best tariff and best cost handset at that time, and then lock into a contract. When that contracts up one of the first things looked at is new deals and what other Networks are offering.

Loyalty would mean we stay with that Network as one is "loyal"

Retention departments can and do offer sweetners which works but sometimes a person is wanting more than whats on the table.

Here's hoping so for fellow Payg users both for 3g and 4g !

I think it is unfair to increase it for pay monthly customers and not for PAYG customers.  But I do understand that both pay monthly and pay as you go have different benefits.

I submit you could argue a Pay Monthly customer has made a commitment to the Network by locking themselves into a long term contract, thus creating revenue for the Network.

PAYG Customers can walk away at any point with no penalties !

That said if O2 offered another tiered level of tariff with an increased data allowance I would be interested.

The last time I asked on Twitter the generic reply was move to Pay Monthly !

Of course there are 30 pay monthly sim only deals out there with o2 instead of payg which offer bigger levels of data.

That said I think some of you may be on legacy tariffs with unlimited data? ??

I used to be on pay monthly but I ended up getting bills for over £80 per month and I decided that it was safer for me to go to PAYG - I spend about £20 per month on my phone.  Just because I have an option to walk away when I can, does not mean I would as I feel that O2 is one of the better networks at the moment.  I have been on O2 since I got my first phone many years ago.

I have noticed a lot of comments from users lately saying that O2 should be more for their loyal customers and I agree.  I know the company should promote their business to get more customers, but they should also continue to help their current customers, otherwise they will walk away.

Loyalty I'm afraid is a thing of the past.

Fair deal policy 02 run gives both new and existing customers the same deals.

A plus is now O2 don't make a pay go go go customer wait 3 months for the allowance double up and calling cs on 4445 is free.

Yes their are 30 day terms which is a good option if that's what ticks your wants and needs boxes.

Seems strange that companies don't appear to reward loyalty but will pay out huge sums to attract new customers. Sky, Virgin, BT and the utilities all spring to mind. I got £180 cash back + 6 months free to sign up to BT Broadband last year. That meant on the 12 month contract that they paid me £84 which I used to offset the cost of the landline which I am forced to have.

Seems crazy to have to pay that out then let existing customers leave by the back door.

Great reasoning BoB and well made as usual.

In my experience retention deals have not been as good as competitor new customer offers, usually they only offer the same as those on the website. Not a discount in sight for loyalty. Then when you have moved o2 then d start the push to find out why you have left! !!!
