Migration from pay and go to pay monthly.

Anonymous
Not applicable
I bought an iPhone 5 and O2 contract at Phones 4u on Xmas eve. I wanted to keep my pay and go number. Was given a temp number which is on my contract. My pay and go number transferred to my new phone and sim but is still on a pay and go account, not pay monthly. I keep getting a txt from O2 stating that my number cannot migrate to pay monthly because my temp number is inactive. O2 say they need an active temp number on my contract, Phones 4u say there is a temp number which is on my contract in black and white?? Neither seem to be able to sort it out? Any help appreciated.

http://service.o2.co.uk/IQ/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=Companion,Ts=Webforms,T=PreToPost is the correct form that should have been used payg to monthly

You urgently need to speak to o2 as they may have taken the sim swap as a cancelation of your monthly contract and may charge a termination fee.

You urgently need to get the temp number reassociated with a sim then use the form above to move the payg number to your pay monthly contract sim

I presume by active you'd need to make calls/txts from the temp number. (Thought if it was on contract the number would automatically become a fixed number)

Your only choice as I see it is to get a new sim and have your pay monthly contract transferred to that. Then afterwards ask them to port your number again.

Is your PAYG with O2?

Yes, pay and go is with O2. My number has switched from my old pay and go phone and sim to my new phone and new sim. It's just it has switched to my pay monthly account?

Sounds like someone did a sim swap rather than a number port. Someone's screwed up.
