Just check my wife's and my mobile account we have been charged media messages we also have unlimited texts and calls was never told about these also when quiered the bill the customer service ended call as they didn't like when asked why bill was higher than should be will be looking else where when device plans on both phones are cleared for another mobile phone contract disappointed with o2 been a customer with them for 20 years or more this is how they treat loyalty great not happy

No contracts come with media messages nowadays, but you should have been made aware of this when signing up.
Most people will use Whatsapp, Skype or Messenger to send pictures/videos if required.
If you call customer services again (best time is between 8 & 8:30am) then you may find a different adviser may be more helpful.
You should also check that the increase on your bill is not due to a pay for it "subscription" - help on how to do that in the links below.

Being a customer for 20 years would come with a lot of knowledge about charges not covered by your tariff to be fair. Try calling again and speaking to someone else who may be a little more sympathetic. Don't use live chat as they are very restricted in what they will or can refund.
