Looking for a new smart phone

I have just brought a refurb. Galaxy Ace from O2 and after 6 days it is already telling me I have no internal memory left. I had to insert a 8GB SD card. I have only downloaded a couple of apps. and now after 4 text messages am being told my message memory is full. I'm thinking of sending it back and asking for a refund but not sure which mobile to buy. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

You have 7 working days to send it back so be swift if you got it from o2.
I'm sure a refurb may be the same but please check

Different models of iPhones go from 8gb, 16gb and 32gb and 64gb of capacity.

They don't accept memory cards tho. Have you thought of moving all you can to your sd card

Make a short list of the phones that catch your eye and compare their internal storage capacity and other specs too.

Whether you go for Android or iphone, you need at least 8GB internal memory for a decent number of apps and to get the full potential use out of a smartphone. Many phones don't allow you to move apps to the SD card.

Back to the drawing board. Don't want a mega phone just better than this one. Mine old phone was better & that wasnt a smart phone!
