Hi there,

I'm about to purchase a new device and have it delivered to my home. However, I want to keep my current number.

How do I transfer my number from the old device to the new? I am aware that there is a form, but when does this need to be filled in, and how long will it take?

Thanks

Are you getting a new sim card or are you moving from another network?

@india467 If your new phone uses the same size sim as your old phone, all you need to do is move the sim into the new phone. No need to fill in any forms. Your phone number is on the sim, not the phone.

@india467

If you are already with O2 then you can just use your old sim if it fits. All changes are made to the system not the sim. However, if the device is 5G and comes with a 5G sim and you are in a 5G area then you just do a sim swap. Guide: Sim Swap: a mini guide 2017 update
