Just obtained a new SIM card for my Galaxy S3 and it doesn't work

Topic.

Sent off for a new SIM card from O2 last week, it arrived on Thursday, just tried to put it in my Galaxy S3 phone, it's a micro SIM, and it does not work.

Do I need to register the SIM or anything? I was told that it would be activated when it came, by O2.

You can either use the simswap form ( Swap my sim )or maybe call customer service. Webchat should also be able to activate the sim for you.

I'm afraid all your numbers are lost now.

Unfortunately I lost the original SIM that was in my phone, not sure what happened, the thing was in my wallet, then I discovered last week that it was lost, containing all my important phone numbers for stuff like work, family and my carers.
