Hi everyone,

I have O2 Insure Standard Monthly insurance (for which I pay £6/ month).

I have lost my phone.

Is the insurance likely to pay for a replacement?
Any help / advice gratefully recieved.

Phone O2 to block your sim and phone

Contract. From a landline 0844 8090202 or 202 if you have access to another O2 powered phone.
Payg. From a landline 0844 8090222 Or 4445 if you can use an O2 powered mobile.

This will stop unauthorised calls being made and your phone contents being seen.

Contact the police to report it and get a lost claim number.
The insurance company will need the lost claim number.

Contact 02 insurance to make a claim.

O2 will send you a replacement SIM card.

You are entitled to the cover offered in that policy, have you made a claim?

You will have an excess of £25 to pay for a loss.

Thank you.

Is it important for insurance reasons that it should be stolen rather than lost?

Check the insurance T&C's (small print)

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

No, just tell them what happened, making up stories often causes grief, so bear in mind they're not silly and have heard all the tales before.

As long as the claim comes within the terms of the policy you have nothing to worry about, so read them first.
