I need to make calls to the USA and shortly will need to be able to make and receive calls whilst in the USA. What's the best package and/or bolt on?

@Ru55e77

To make calls to the USA you need the international bolt on

https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/international/the-international-bolt-on

For travel to the USA and using your phone there, you either need O2 Travel. Or O2 Travel Inclusive, (which is tariff dependent)

https://www.o2.co.uk/international/travel-inclusive-zone

Be aware that data roaming speeds in the US are very poor. You would be far better using a local sim from AT&T or T-Mobile.

Use Wifi whenever you can. Messenger and whatsapp are the best to keep in touch with friends and family.

Turn Voicemail off as you will be charged twice. Once for receiving the call to voicemail and again when you listen or reply to it

The only one that is available whilst in the US is the o2 Travel Add-On

Bare in mind that all UK networks suffer for absolutely dire speeds whilst in the US, but can never understand why.

For calling the US from the UK:

I would use Skype its cheaper or have a look at the options here:

iPhone 16 Pro Max - o2 and Spusu
Xperia 1V - Spusu

This is not customer services and we dont have access to your account
I do not work for o2 or any VMo2 /Telefonica/Liberty Global Company

I have just joined O2 on a plus contract and so have the international package and the international travel Bolt on. Whilst in a country like Mexico, which is covered by the international package, will I have to pay for calls to other places in Mexico, for example?
