IMEI not recognised with O2!!!

Anonymous

Hi
I applied for the unlock code with my IMEI however i got a text form o2saying that they have no record of my IMEI. I double checked the IMEI and it is correct. I had my original iPhone replaced through insurance so I'm wondering if the system was updated with my current IMEI? Eitherway my phone is still locked to o2, I'd be very appreciative if an unlock code could be provided so I can change sims.
Thanks
Robert

Hi,
This is a customer to customer forum, looks like the system hasn't been updated with your new IMEI so you need to contact Customer Services to have it updated and then request the unlock again, hope this helps.

Hi,

I was in contact with customer support for nearly an hour with no success. I have had the phone for 3-4 years and always been on O2 contract.

Thanks
Paul

Can you tell me what CS told you if you got thru to them? Did you use live chat or you spoke to someone over the phone?

This crops up a few times with replacement handsets. Ask CS to reset your phone on the system then when you log onto the network it should auto update with your current phones IMEI number.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Hi,

I have contacted O2 twice through live chat and I am still having no luck! I am in New Zealand now for 6 months, so contacting CS via telephone is not really an option.........

Thanks,
Paul

It will be impossible for O2's system to associate the IMEI with your number whilst on an overseas network. Having said that it should have been updated previously.

What IMEI number is it showing in My O2?

I am not using the O2 sim while I'm away in NZ. I have checked on myO2 and it's the same IMEI number to the iPhone I am trying to get unlocked......... Is there anything else I can do???

On a second look it's actually saying it's an iPhone 4 when it's actually an 3G, I'd that the problem? Strange as I have had the phone contracted with O2 since 2010
