I switched up to a new contract in Oct with 6month free airtime, got the 2nd bill today and have been charged for airtime but with only a 25% O2 Open discount and not 100% that I signed up for, why would this be? I can't make sense of it.
I called CS and they said the system has chosen the discount that benefits me more?? Basic math tells me 100% off benefits me more than 25% off.

The first bill after changing contract is an amalgamation of items from previous contract and from new contract - see if it evens out in next month's bill. (As an example, I went from a 10GB, double data for 24months on purchase and Volt double on the 10GB base, to a 40GB base, doubled with Volt to 80GB - my first bill showed I had used 36.xxGB of 120GB because of the end-dates of doubledata and how Volt applied itself - after first bill, all stabilised and I see 40GB base plus Volt 40GB, total 80GB. Discounts may also appear wonky on that crossover bill, @Paul820. If you had O2Open previously, that will clear down next month, so long as you have not reapplied for it Guide: O2 Open & Friends and Family discounts - How to sign up . Good luck!

Over 24 months that works out at £539 either way, so you are no better or worse off whichever discount you get. If your contract is over 36 months, you are saving loads more by having the 25% off monthly.

Thanks for the calculation, I was planning on just using it for the first 3 months and then use switch up. I'm thinking of moving away from them as well, too many problems in the last few months I have had with them. Think I'll switch up and use my 14 day cancellation when my switch is due.

No worries @Paul820
Good luck either way.
