Best thing to do @MI5...we can guess all day but I don't think it will help in anyway..

I'm sorry to say this but u didn't have a roaming bar before but u do now.... Unfortunately you need to call customer services again and ask for it to be removed. For that kind of request u can even use web chat, just specifically ask for the roaming bar to be removed and that would be it.
If you can (could) use data it means there is nothing from O2's side stopping u from using ur phone abroad...It's something else...

Roaming bars aren't normal these days, usually you have to request it and if O2 Travel is active why would they block the account. A call to customer service is needed I'm afraid and a proper explanation.
I've roamed all over the world with o2, never had a problem, never had to ask for roaming to be enabled. I do mean ALL over the world. A restriction had been applied to the account and I too would be livid.

Must admit when I first started travelling a lot to Spain I did inform CS...just the once. I got the feeling it wasn't needed and have never done it again.... Never had a problem at all

So, I thought I would update this.
I spoke to o2 when I got back from Paris and was told they had removed the roaming bar. I spoke to three separate o2 customer service people who assured me they had sorted it out.
Guess what? I arrived in Tenerife on June 8 to no service at all. My partner has o2 and his phone worked fine. My sim said 'no service'. I bought a Movistar sim and got o2 on Live Chat. The guy said there was no problem with my account and I should re-start my phone. Of course, that didn't work so I had an entire week in Spain with no internet except for wifi when it was available. On top of that, I lost my o2 sim so had to arrange for a new one to be posted to me.
When I got home last night, I spoke to Live Chat to activate the new sim and the guy told me there was a roaming call bar on my account and that he had just removed it.
I spoke to cancellations and they want £80 to release me from my sim only contract. They said they can remove the bar(s) that are still there but can't guarantee that my phone will work abroad after they have done it. I asked if a new number would solve the problem and was told that it wouldn't. I don't want to leave o2 but it looks like I might have to.
What should I do?? I'm defeated.
