Anyone else struggling with eSIMs. I upgraded to a iphone 16 last week but didn't realise until I needed to make a call that the phone and text was not working with e-SIM. I was on the phone 3 hours last week trying to get the e-SIM set up and tried again to day to get it to work and was told it would be best to simply put my old SIM card back into my phone. I was told it was blocked so they would need to unblock it. I've just put my old SIM in and rung a number and it works. Anyone else baffled and frustrated by their experience. I thought e-SIM would be good for overseas travel.

Put it this way. I dumped my eSIM and went back to plastic. Plenty of eSIM space if I want to add a travel eSIM
However eSIM - How to activate

Have to concur with @Enlli for my main number which gets swapped around devices a lot, i am sticking to plastic..
I use esim for the virtual networks I use as secondary... and talking to colleagues on other networks they all do the same...

No problemss whatsoever with esims but you got to know what you're doing as not as simple as just changing a plastic sim.
Forward thinking and planning is required.

I have eSIMs on Vodafone and Spusu, but never will on O2. Ten days without service on O2 when I swapped handsets due to the usual 🐔 ups and that was cut short by me going into an O2 store and swapping back to plastic

Took me 5 mins in store to move esim between phones.

Well in my case there was a problem with the system preventing it.
And at 77 why should I have to take half a day out to travel to the City Centre, then walk with my bad hip to do something the other networks sorted on line in minutes.

I'm sure it will be easier when all the fraudsters are jailed and we can all live in peace and harmony

It's simple really...stop disconnecting the plastic sim when ordering an esim
That would mean a simple activation through My O2
.....or a £9.00 taxi to Blackburn, the only O2 store in my area Not to mention £9.00 back!
