E-mail on PAYG Nokia 6300 (for time being)

Anonymous
Not applicable

Looking at trying to get e-mail but keep getting "subscribe paket data" message.

Doesn't the PAYG contract with 250-Mb allowance allow data from e-mail?

Yes it should do.

You need to enable packet data in the email settings menu.

Sorry edited that out as your phone was in the thread title....
Go into the email settings and look for "connections", in there you need to enable the email client to use packet data.

Choose either your data access point (O2 one) or your wifi access point.

From the manual:
Configuration setting service
To use some of the network services, such as mobile internet services, MMS, Nokia Xpress
audio messaging, or remote internet server synchronization, your phone needs the
correct configuration settings. For more information on availability, contact your service
provider or the nearest authorized Nokia dealer, or visit the support area on the Nokia
website. See "Nokia support", p. 9.
When you have received the settings as a configuration message and the settings are
not automatically saved and activated, Configuration settings received is displayed.
To save the settings, select Show > Save. If required, enter the PIN code supplied by
the service provider.
If you haven't got the config settings send a text containing the word "active" to 2020 and save the settings that get sent back.

Also make sure packet data is enabled:
Packet data
General packet radio service (GPRS) is a network service that allows mobile phones to
send and receive data over an internet protocol (IP)-based network.
To define how to use the service, select Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Packet
data > Packet data conn. and from the following options:
● When needed — to set the packet data connection to established when an
application needs it. The connection will be closed when the application is
terminated.
● Always online — to automatically connect to a packet data network when you
switch the phone on
