Debt appears in credit history

I have recently looked at my credit report and have discovered that the only default relates to £10 outstanding since 2012. I was unaware of this and was stunned that this single issue has markedly affected my credit score. I want to get the debt paid and cleared but nobody at 02 seems able to help me. I am a current 02 customer with no debt whatsoever and I don’t know what this old debt is about . Who should I contact and how do I contact them so I can sort this out. Any advice would be much appreciated

Your debt will have long been sold to an agency who I would have thought would have contacted you a long time ago.
The good news, if there is any, is that it will be erased from your credit history after 6 years automatically.
