I've recently switched to O2 Refresh paying £22/month for the airtime, but when I check my data use I'm getting the amount of data used from 2Gb, not the 5Gb I was expecting. This is up from my previous 3G allowance of 1Gb, so I'm assuming I've been incorrectly given a 3G allowance even though I'm on a 4G tarrif. Have I missed something that says the 5Gb allowance is only for new customers, or is this a mistake on my account?

I think there's been some misunderstanding of my situation, I signed up to a NEW O2 Refresh contract with a new handset.

On MyO2, my contract is correctly shown as "O2 4G Unlimited + 24 month".

If you go and look at the O2 website, 4G Refresh tariffs all come with unlimited calls & texts with either 1Gb (£17), 5Gb (£22) or 8Gb (£27) per month on 4G or unlimited calls & texts with either 1Gb (£17) or 2Gb (£22) perm month on 3G.

There's an example here: https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/refreshTariffs/apple/iphone-5s-16gb-space-grey/

I bought a 4G phone in a 4G coverage area after asking for a 4G contract and I get a 4G service. But I only have a 3G data allowance. Even more confusing, if I go into my bolt-ons, I can upgrade to 8Gb/month for an extra £5 - an option that isn't available for 3G contracts as far as I know.

Since posting this, I have contacted O2 customer services, who have agreed that I have some kind of technical issue with my account. A request has been forwarded to the relevant support team and I should be sorted in the next 24 hours.

Contact O2 on 202 for clarification

The 4g extra data is via a bolt on.

Your myo2 should state what tariff and any bolt on's your on.

IIRC the £22 tariff is the basic calls/texts and the 4G aspect should be a bolt on which is extra - Look in the bolt on section of your My O2 and it should say what you have on your account.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
